To coincide with Adelaide’s LIV Golf tournament, a local Not For Profit operator is launching its Golf Challenge event.
The ACH Group Golf Challenge will see residents across their six residential care homes take part in a mini golf competition.
Each home will crown its own winner, with the overall champion awarded a coveted and individually tailored green jacket.
ACH Group CEO Linda Feldt said with South Australia in the grip of LIV Golf Adelaide 2026 fever, residents at ACH Group were embracing the moment.
Linda said the event was about much more than competition.
“The ACH Group Golf Challenge allows residents to connect with a major community event like LIV Golf,” she said. “The tournament is not only fun; it brings out the competitiveness in everyone and is also great for the health and wellbeing.”
ACH Group resident Gary Osmond (pictured), a former groundskeeper, will be competing in the Golf Masters Tournament for the second time this year after a podium finish last year.
“I came third last year and I’m hoping to go a bit better this year,” he said. “It is a great day – everyone comes out to play or watch, and we have a lot of fun. I hope the competition goes on forever.”
The tournament has been carefully designed so residents of all abilities can participate, including those in wheelchairs or who require walkers for support. Working closely with ACH Group’s health and social teams, local Adelaide business Epic Hire Adelaide has created a bespoke mini golf course and equipment, including extended putters and modified greens to make play easier and safer.
“We are so delighted that we were able to partner an Adelaide based company to Media Release deliver an amazing set of golf holes for residents to enjoy,” Linda said.
“The golf sticks have customised handles with longer grips that allow all people to participate. They also have shorter grass than usual to provide a more solid base, and the course can be changed around to keep things interesting.”
