Located north and north-west of Sydney respectively, each is less than a two hour drive from the city and well served by rail transport. The Central Coast boasts a relaxed beach lifestyle, while the Hawkesbury offers a tranquil village atmosphere. Both areas feature parklands and waterside amenities, as well as local public hospitals, nursing homes and health services. Central Coast townships include Gosford, Wyong, Woy Woy, Terrigal and The Entrance; the Hawkesbury ranges from Windsor and Richmond north to Colo and west into the mountains towns of Kurrajong and Bilpin.
