City of Rockingham sells Perth's Bert England Lodge to Bethanie

WA-based Not For Profit aged care provider Bethanie will purchase the Bert England Lodge residential home from City of Rockingham Council, having managed it for around 10 months.
The home in Cooloongup, in Perth’s outer southern suburbs, can house 44 residents and has belonged to Council since 2006; however, in 2019, the City started the process to sell it to an approved aged care provider, citing the increased complexity of providing aged care services.
According to City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin, current and future residents will be best served by a specialised provider owning and managing the home.
“Bethanie assumed management of Bert England Lodge in July 2021 on behalf of the City, and since then it has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing quality, individualised care to residents, as well as support and ongoing training to staff.
The sale is set to be completed in August.
