Need help with Google Home? This retirement village has its own ‘tech angel’
Technical advisor Darren Larson oversees the service, which is being offered at Aveo’s newly opened Newstead retirement village in Brisbane’s Gasworks precinct – and he’s the most in-demand man in the 19-storey tower.
The development, which features 144 apartments priced from $449,000, has its very own tech bar designed to help residents master a range of technologies from mobile phones and smart TVs to tablets and Google Home.
Darren is also on hand to help residents troubleshoot issues with their laptops, computers, printers, phones and Wi-Fi – for free (where can I sign up?)

Telstra has a Tech Savvy Seniors program which provides short ‘self-teach’ videos on everything from extending the ring time of your phones to storing photos on the cloud and setting up streaming on your smart TV.
