Never too late to follow your dreams: this 102-year-old painter picked up a brush at 85
Trudy Smith had always wanted to be an artist, but only started painting after her husband passed away.
Today, she spends most of her time in her studio at the back of her house and is just about to host an exhibition of her latest work at her local seniors community centre in Eaton in Western Australia.
And her secret to staying fit and healthy?
Ms Smith says she doesn’t have one. Instead, her advice is to give anything a go – such as taking up painting.
“Always when I have had that feeling of ‘shall I?’ The answer is ‘yes.’”
