Video Transcript Step 5 - Search Aged Care Homes
You need to find an aged care home and you have been told it needs to be found soon. You would think it should be easy but unfortunately that is rarely the case.
Most homes run at 95% occupancy.
And places that are available may not have the services that you need.
Then there is the cost. You might like the home near to you but it costs more than you can afford.
Here on agedcare101 you can prepare a shopping list of aged care homes that appear to suit your requirements. Check the locations, the operators and the special services offered. You may have to speak to five or even ten homes before you have a short list to visit and discuss with other family members.
You may also find that your idea of what is best will change as you visit several homes, so we have created a place to keep your email to different homes; it’s called my 101 file. You can check it out here.
Remember – ask lots of questions and be aware that things take time, especially if you have a busy life day to day. Be prepared – and organised!
Our strong advice is to invest the time to understand all the steps laid out here at agedcare101, where aged care is made easy.
