Video Transcript Step 7 - Applications
Applying for a place in an aged care home takes time and can be frustrating.
Every operator has its own forms to fill out and you will need a list of documents and information ready.
You will also have your own questions.
There are two essential steps once you have narrowed down the homes that may suit. The first is to get on their list. You do this by making a formal application.
The second is to visit the home and verify it is right for you.
The good news is that while all homes have their own forms, they pretty much ask the same questions so we have created a bulk application form. You complete it once and send it to as many homes as you want. Just create your own our101File here to get started.
If space is not available in your home of choice you may be placed on a waiting list.
When you are closer to acceptance you will need your documents. We have an extensive list of around 20 you may need.
The next step is to visit the homes.
Our advice: Invest the time early to understand all the steps laid out here at agedcare101, where aged care is made easy.
